Puerto Rican pharmacy price-fixing

(November 14, 2012) -- A final order settled charges by the FTC that a cooperative of pharmacy owners in Puerto Rico (Cooperativa de Farmacias Puertorriquenas) engaged in anticompetitive conduct. The pharmacies allegedly colluded to fix prices in contracts with insurers and pharmacy benefit managers. The FTC charged also that members of the cooperative acted collectively to pressure third party payers to pay members higher prices....
