FTC, FDA warn e-cigarette companies about kid-friendly product packaging

The Federal Trade Commission and the Food and Drug Administration jointly sent 13 warning letters to companies that sell vaping products like liquid nicotine in packaging that may appeal to children.

“Protecting young children from unwarranted health and safety risks is one of our highest priorities,” former FTC acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen said on a press call that she conducted with FDA officials. “Nicotine is highly toxic, and these letters make clear that marketing methods that put kids at risk of nicotine poisoning are unacceptable.”...
