New administration, same T-Mobile-Sprint deal; different result?

The proposed merger of T-Mobile and Sprint, the Nos. 3 and 4 US wireless carriers, is an all-in wager that a business-friendly Donald Trump administration will yield to corporate desires when a few short years ago, an identical proposal was blocked by Barack Obama’s antitrust watchdogs.

Antitrust enforcers have been concerned that the deal would reduce the number of national wireless carriers from four to three, with the new company holding about a third of the national market. Fewer competitors could lead to higher consumer prices....
