(September 17, 2012) -- In a concerted effort to protect would-be permanent U.S. residents from visa scams, the FTC has issued a new video that spells out the rules in English and Spanish versions. FTC attorney Michael Waller sounds genial but blunt. Anyone from an eligible country who meets the educational or work requirements can enter the lottery for a chance to apply for lawful, permanent resident status in the United States — a green card. Unfortunately, the visa process has become a magnet for con artists who promise an edge in winning the lottery when, in fact, no one can alter the odds....
