DOJ, Apple face off in court

(June 17, 2013) -- As the Justice Department was building its case against Apple Inc. for allegedly conspiring with book publishers to jack up the prices of e-books, it was clear that Eddy Cue, a top executive at Apple, would be a key witness at trial. A quick perusal of the government’s filings and exhibits featured Cue’s name time and again as he scrambled to cut a deal in late 2009 and early 2010 with executives in five of the six largest U.S. book publishers....
