FTC’s newest commissioner sworn in

(January 31, 2013) -- For all the teeth-gnashing caused by the battle over the fiscal cliff, Joshua Wright, the newest FTC Commissioner, can look back fondly on all the political pyrotechnics. Wright, sworn in on January 11, was confirmed “unanimously” as Senators found themselves in session on New Year’s Day, preparing to vote on the fiscal measure. What better way to take up floor time than with votes on pending nominations—and Wright’s name, along with several other agency nominees, was discharged by the Senate Commerce Committee as part of a package that was passed by “unanimous consent.”...
