Bid rigging in automobile parts industry

(September 18, 2013) -- The Justice Department’s investigation into anticompetitive conduct in the automobile parts industry netted yet another indictment recently with charges leveled against Shingo Okuda, an executive with G.S. Electech Inc. The charges center on Okuda’s alleged role in an international conspiracy to fix prices and rig bids on antilock brake systems installed in U.S. cars. The indictment, filed on September 11 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, is the first charge growing out of this investigation to be brought in Kentucky....
