Neil Averitt commentary: Cage fighting enters the antitrust arena

(August 14, 2015) -- When we think of antitrust venues, we think of conference rooms populated by middle-aged lawyers in gray suits. But that’s only because we haven’t been spending enough time at Rivals Sports Lounge in Honolulu, where televisions are tuned to the Ultimate Fighting Championship events, and tattoos are plentiful. These mixed martial arts events, it turns out, are at the center of their own antitrust litigation. They may make new law in the area of exclusive dealing. And they certainly bring to the antitrust world their own distinctive cast of characters....
